What is it?
3Cs is a simple framework created by Kenichi Ohmae. It lists the three factors that you have to consider every time you think strategically:
Customer. The customer is typically the starting point for strategy
Competitor. Business is a relative game. How can you build your unique advantage relative to the competition?
Corporation. Looking internally at our own capabilities
When is it useful?
Use this for a quick check on any idea you come up with:
- Will Customers buy it?
- Can our Corporation deliver it profitably?
- Will it be hard for Competitors to match?
If the answer is yes to all these questions, you have a winner.
3Cs can also be a simple logical structure for presenting an opportunity.
